Turn a Pebble watch button into a remote start/stop trigger for audio recording.
PebbleRecorder turns your Pebble watch into a remote start/stop trigger for audio recording on your phone. Press a button on the watch, and this app records straight to a folder you choose - no need to touch your phone.
The watch has no microphone logic of its own - it just sends a start/stop command over Pebble's AppMessage protocol (relayed through the Pebble/Core companion app) and displays whatever status comes back, with a mic/record/stop icon and a live elapsed-time timer. All recording happens here, on the phone, via MediaRecorder, writing AAC/M4A files into a folder you pick through the standard Android folder picker (Storage Access Framework) - the app only ever writes inside that folder.
Optional features, both off by default: * Location tagging: attaches a reverse-geocoded location line to each recording's transcript. * Gemini transcription: sends a finished recording to Google's Gemini API (using your own API key) and saves the returned speaker-labeled transcript alongside the recording. This talks to a non-free cloud service and is entirely opt-in - the app works fully without it.
Requires a Pebble smartwatch, paired via a Pebble/Core companion app (e.g. Core Devices' official app), and the matching PebbleRecorder watchapp installed on the watch (see the project's source repository for the watch app and its own installation instructions).
